Clara Martin Center presents "Abundance"
The Clara Martin Center invites you to the third annual Celebrating Creativity in Mental Health, Wellness, and Recovery Art Show. This year’s theme is “Abundance”. The show will be on display from September 10 until November 2, 2018 with a formal opening reception on Friday, October 5 from 4-7 pm.
The history of the show began when the Clara Martin Center was celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2016 with the idea of supporting mental health and challenging the stigma surrounding it. This sparked the Clara Martin Center to host the Me2/Orchestra and the art and poetry show at the Chandler Center for the Arts.
The theme of celebrating creativity was enhanced in the second year to include the emphasis “From Green to Fall” with the art and poetry applicants submitting their pieces that fit that theme. This year the applicants have submitted pieces connected to the theme of “abundance.”
The collaboration and support from the Chandler Center for the Arts has been invaluable and has made this a successful ongoing community event. Please join us at the formal opening reception on Friday, October 5 from 4-7 pm for a meet and greet with the artists and to listen to live readings of selected poetry.
